Project Details

The Health Plaza South is a 40,000 SF 3-story primary care, urgent care, outpatient surgery center, and medical office building designed by Harrell Design Group, PC for Conway Medical Center. The building is located in Socastee, SC and serves the southern grand strand area of Myrtle Beach. The building was envisioned as a flagship for the medical center system and was designed with particular emphasis with blending with the nearby South Carolina low country architecture. The facility design includes a four (4) operating room ambulatory surgery center with an on-premises sterile processing area. Due to critical expansion needs of the medical center, the facility was designed and constructed in 12 months and required extensive site stabilization due to poor soil conditions. The Health Plaza South was named Medical Building of the Year for the State of South Carolina and has been placed in the South Carolina Real Estate Hall of Fame.
